Fourth of Prescott

For the Fourth of July this year, we decided to get out of the heat (after being home for 3 days) and go to Prescott with our good friends, Vince, Staci and their two daughters, Maddie and Camilla.

We arrived in time for beer flights with Tom, a long time friend of Scott and Vince, at Lonesome Valley Brewing Company in Prescott Valley. Natalie arranged the kid cups into a flight as well.

Afternoon beer and games at Granite Mountain Brewery in Prescott.

Mommy was up early to enjoy some coffee ALONE on the back deck with a breeze and a view.

Daddy was up early to enjoy a bike ride.

Checking out the Fourth of July Arts Festival at the Courthouse Square.

Afternoon dance party with Eloise, Camilla and their reflections.

Adventures in a canoe at Goldwater Lake.

Swinging on the big girl swings with mommy and Ms. Staci while the big girls and the dads went in the canoe.

Important life lessons at the house.

Enjoying the weather and exploring the Courthouse Square.

Fourth of July fireworks were cancelled due to the wildfires in the area, but the giant bouncy party at the middle school football field was not. So we grabbed all the sunscreen and off we went... but wow, it was a HOT afternoon.

Up until today, Eloise generally hated bounce houses. But it was so hot and there was nothing else to do. So finally, after mommy helped her climb up to the top and caught her at the bottom... Eloise decided that maybe bounce houses weren't so bad.

Natalie and Camilla helped convince her even more in one of the smaller bounce houses in the shade.

Hot and sweaty but a stiff margarita helped the adults survive.

The line was long, and it took some convincing from Maddie and mommy, but Natalie went. And wow did she fly HIGH.

Here's a video of Maddie on the slide...

And an amazing photo of Nat mid-air on the slide...

Natalie, enjoying the giant funnel cake she was promised.
