Nat's Kindergarten Celebration

At the end of the school year, Natalie's school holds a Kindergarten Celebration to celebrate all the kids conquering kindergarten and moving on to first grade. The kids performed some super cute songs and each received a certificate from their teacher. It was a very nice ceremony.

Her ceremony included three of the five kindergarten classes at her school.

After all the songs and readings by the teachers, each child waited for their name to be called to get a certificate and a hug from their teacher and shake hands with the Principal.

Then all the parents were invited back to the classroom to celebrate with their child among friends.

Bye Bye Crib. Hello Big Girl Bed!

With potty training moving along nicely, we decided it was time to move to a big girl bed. And we wanted to do it before our road trip to Camp Nebraska, so Eloise helped mommy turn her baby crib into a big girl bed! And as you can see, she was pretty helpful...

 And after we got it all put together, she got to test it out.

Paint brushes and date night

We were invited to celebrate a friend's birthday at one of those wine and painting places and despite not being at all artistic, we had a blast with good friends, enjoyed loads of wine and now have some silly new bathroom decorations!

Muffins for Mom

For Mother's Day, the kids in Natalie's Kindergarten class worked very hard to prepare a fun morning to invite all moms into the classroom. They made personalized placemats, crowns, a super cute little tile craft (a heart made out of the kids thumbs) and rehearsed a song to perform for all the moms.

April 2017 in review

April was a whirlwind... Daddy went to Korea and Taiwan, Natalie turned SIX, Natalie wrapped up her 3rd soccer season with team Real, Eloise started using the potty a little more, we drained and super cleaned the pool, Natalie continued to rock her spelling and phonogram tests, Daddy got a new bike, Auntie came to visit and Eloise started wanting to ride a big girl bike with pedals...

Natalie's former Pre-K teacher, Miss Jill, came to a few of the games this season. She quickly became the team's biggest cheerleader!  The reason? All these wonderful kids were once in her class...

 Eloise grew up into a big girl overnight and began coming out of her shell at school.

 

Sisters did sisterly things.

Natalie, the kindergarten phonogram whiz continued her streak by mastering the 70 question test on all her phonograms...

...so we walked to the store on the corner near our house and got ice cream treats as a reward.

Big smiles. Happy girls.

Eloise kept asking to ride a big girl bike with pedals. So we borrowed the neighborhood training bike (belongs to our neighbor but has taught his 3 kids and Natalie to ride) and got her all setup. Her legs could be an inch or two longer, but the first experience was a success!

Then daddy got a new bike. Eloise was pleased to see that it matches hers.
