Our neighbor, Mr. Gene, came by on a hot Sunday afternoon and said he was going to drink a beer and try to fry an egg on the sidewalk at 3:30 if we'd like to bring the kids over and watch. Sure, why not!?! So at 3:30, mommy grabbed a beer and a thermometer. Natalie grabbed her water bottle and a hat and off we went to see if Mr. Gene could fry an egg.
He had placed this frying pan outside in the sun about 45 minutes prior so that it could get super hot. Our thermometer indicated that the sidewalk is 131 degrees (the 132 degree reading is the remote reading from the sensor in our attic. Yowza!) so after greasing the pan, Gene dropped the egg in. No sizzle. No nothing.
The egg wasn't cooking as fast as some people wanted/expected. So our neighbor went home to grab one of his photo light tents/shields to see if it would accelerate the process. It helped a little.
All in all, it was just another silly/fun adventure on Kimbersucklewood.
