Christmas photos, with a twist

Our awesome neighbor agreed to take our photos for Christmas again this year.  And since we've been in farm fields for the past few years, we decided to switch it up completely this year and went downtown to a fun graffiti wall...

 

 

 

Quick glimpse at November 2013

On November 10, we started wearing big-girl panties full-time.  We also took the railing off our crib and gave Nat a big-girl bed.

Later that night...

After her first three days at school in big-girl panties, Natalie had no accidents.  Mommy got her an ice cream cone on the way home from school.

Halloween 2013

Decorating pumpkins earlier in the day with Grandpa and Grandma...

As for costumes, Natalie wanted to be a tooth fairy so mommy decided to make her costume (after all, isn't this kind of what Halloween is about?) and Grandma helped be-dazzle it.  Katie wanted to be a purple crayon.  Gus was a hot dog.  Natalie wanted Scott to be a banana.  Natalie wanted mommy to just be mommy.  Natalie supplied Grandma with a play witch hat and also asked Grandma to help turn Grandpa into a pumpkin.

 

100% totally exhausted at the end of the night.

Whit's Halloween Triathlon

I signed up for a sprint triathlon one day while sitting at a stoplight as a way of lighting a fire under my butt.  After a few months of non-training, I was delighted to learn that my mom and dad were planning to come out and support me.  Thankfully, that lit another fire a month before the race.

Only crazy people volunteer to get up this early... but my mom didn't even think twice.  Just another reason she is so awesome.

And thanks to a run-in with a former colleague, there was another fire lit on the morning of the race.  There was NO WAY I was going to let him pass me.
